Ummi friends, have you given alms today? Giving alms has such a broad meaning, not only in the form of wealth, even smiling is considered charity, helping people in distress is also considered charity, and lightening people's burdens is considered charity. Alms is a stock in the hereafter whose reward will continue to flow even though the donor has passed away.

On the authority of Amru bin Auf ra, he said that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Indeed, the almsgiving of a Muslim extends his life and prevents him from dying in a bad condition, and Allah SWT removes with that almsman's attitude of pride, arrogance and self-pride (from his giving)." (Hadith Narrated by Bukhari)

The above hadith explains that in addition to obligatory alms, namely zakat assets, zakat fitrah and so on / Muslims are generally encouraged to give alms (other than obligatory) as a sign of gratitude for all the blessings bestowed by Allah SWT.

It turns out that there are some alms that are not accepted by God, even though the form of almsgiving itself is accepted by humans, that is, it is not done sincerely or has a purpose other than for God. Here are five alms that will not be accepted.

1. Alms from the Results of Fraud

Basically giving alms or giving valuable things that we have to people without strings attached is a noble deed and is highly recommended by religion. However, if you give something or results in a way that is not lawful (fraud), then Allah will not accept it, as the hadith will explain below.

Abdullah ibn Umar replied, "Allah does not accept prayers (prayers) without being purified and does not accept alms from the proceeds of fraud (unlawful results)". (HR. Muslim).

2. Alms that are Leveraged

(O you who have believed, do not invalidate your alms with growth and harm, like one who spends nonsense among people, and does not believe in God and the days)

"O you who believe, do not lose your alms (rewards).

by mentioning it and hurting (the recipient's feelings), like someone who spends his wealth because he is greedy for humans and he does not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. ." (Al-Baqarah: 264)

3. Alms because of Riya

The verse above is also the argument that riya can erase the reward of alms, also the word of Allah تعالى

(And those who spend their wealth are seen by men, and do not believe in God or in the Last Day, and in whom Satan has been oppressed, peer and peer)

"And (also) those who spend their wealth out of greed for humans, and those who do not believe in Allah and in the Hereafter. Whoever takes the devil to be his friend, then the devil is the worst friend ." (QS. An-Nisa: 38)

4. Alms from Something Bad

يَاأَيُّهَاالَّذِينَآمَنُواأَنْفِقُوامِنْطَيِّبَاتِمَاكَسَبْتُمْوَمِمَّاأَخْرَجْنَالَكُمْمِنَالْأَرْضِۖوَلَاتَيَمَّمُواالْخَبِيثَمِنْهُتُنْفِقُونَوَلَسْتُمْبِآخِذِيهِإِلَّاأَنْتُغْمِضُوافِيهِۚوَاعْلَمُواأَنَّاللَّهَغَنِيٌّحَمِيدٌ)

"O you who believe, spend (in Allah's way) some of the good results of your efforts and some of what We bring out of the earth for you. And do not choose the bad and then spend from it, even though you yourself do not want to take it but by squinting at it. And know that Allah is Rich, Most Praised." (QS. Al-Baqarah: 267)

5. Alms of Infidels and Alms of Force

And they prevented them from their successes, but they are atonement for the Holors.

"And there is nothing that prevents them from receiving their livelihood from them except because they are disbelievers in Allah and His Messenger and they do not perform prayer, except through laziness and do not (also) spend (their wealth), except with a sense of reluctance (forced) ).(QS. At-Taubah:54)

Friends of Ummi, don't let our alms intentions be diverted and in the end you will not get a reward but a sin, naudzubillah. Give alms so that the left hand does not know what is given by the right hand because that is a symbol of honesty and sincerity only for Allah SWT.
