Understanding KKN (Corruption, Collusion, Nepotism) that Occurred in Indonesia
Corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN) is a classic problem in Indonesia. Even this problem has emerged since the days of colonialism in Indonesia. Various legal steps have been taken to prevent KKN. However, the number of KKN in Indonesia remains high. In fact, out of a total of 175 countries, Indonesia is ranked 12th as the most corrupt country in the world according to 2014 data.
Corruption
Corruption comes from the Latin word Corruptio which means corrupted, rotten, twisted, bribed, and destabilizing. Corruption is committed by certain parties by abusing rights that they do not own. The act of enriching oneself is done to gain unilateral benefits while not from his own right.
Corruption acts include unlawful acts against various parties such as harming the state and harming others. Therefore a country establishes a Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi) in order to prevent many corrupt acts committed by employees for various matters as well as abuse of official office in order to gain personal and group benefits.
Collusion
Collusion also occurs in the various fields undertaken by certain elements for their common good. Collusion itself is an action or deed done by making a hidden agreement unnoticed by many parties. Agreements made by both parties in the form of the agreement are usually accompanied by the provision of money, property, facilities so that all the business becomes more smoothly. This action is also unlawful at the expense of everything to gain mutual benefit.
Nepotism
After discussing about corruption, and collusion, the next is nepotism. Nepotism comes from the Latin nepos which means "grandchild or niece". Nepotism prefers relatives, close friends by good relationships by certain parties. For example, a person who has a high office appoint a brother or a partner to gain a job is not seen from the ability possessed.
Nepotism has been around a few years ago that is also happening all over the world. Nepotism can also be said to be an act of favoritism regardless of justice. This action also harms others. Because in general the ruling person has the power to enter by selecting people close to them like relatives and friends.
