In Thibbun Nabawi (medicine taught by the Prophet), one of the most famous medicines is olive oil. Besides being described in the hadith of the Prophet, olives are also mentioned in the Qur'an.
And figs and olives
"By the (fruit) figs and olives" (QS. At Tin: 1)
Olive oil can be consumed and can also be used as a topical oil as the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said:
Bathe yourself with oil and anoint yourself with it, for it is from a blessed tree.
"Meat with olive oil and make it as a spread, because it comes from a blessed tree." (Narrated by Ibn Majah)
What is the greatness of olive oil that olives are mentioned in the Qur'an and the Messenger of Allah encourages his people to consume them often? Scientifically, the miraculous benefits of olive oil are only known in this modern century through a series of studies.
Quoted Merdeka.com from the journal Molecular & Cellular Oncology , Friday (13/3/2015), research on olive oil found a substance called oleochantal (OC) in extra virgin olive oil (pure olive oil) can kill cancer cells in 30 minutes . And miraculously, this substance does not bring any side effects on cells that are not affected by cancer.
This study reinforces previous research in 2014 which showed that OC can provide anti-inflammatory effects and chemotherapy effects in patients.
