Let's Read, This is the Complete Story of the Prophet Elias/Ilyas AS
Prophet Elijah was sent to the people of Baalbek, west of the city of Damascus (now East Lebanon). He invited his people to worship only God and abandon the worship of idols they called Ba`la. This is what caused them to persecute him. Ibn Abbas said that Ilyas was the uncle of Prophet Ilyasak.
but no matter how persistent Prophet Ilyas preached, his people did not want to listen to him. So God punishes them with punishment in this world and the hereafter.
After the death of Prophet Sulaiman AS, the kingdom was divided. Satanic influence is rampant. Religious people are mocked. The law of Somalia has killed most of the people who know and follow the true faith. The influence of evil became worse and God sent Prophet Ilyas AS to restore humanity during the reign of King Ahab of Israel. He tried his best to save people from believing in many gods and forbid them to worship Tyrian Bal.
He also advised people to worship God and avoid doing evil. When his efforts were ignored and did not bear fruit, he suddenly appeared as a king and his soothsayer told him that strong currents and famine would hit the country. He also told that Tyrian Bal did not have the power to stop the disaster. The inhabitants did not heed his warning and did not change their beliefs. The prophecy of Prophet Ilyas finally proved true and the whole country was hit by a great flood and the people suffered from famine. After two years, Prophet Ilyas begged God to grant His mercy and forgiveness to the starving people. They have acknowledged the power of God and feel very sorry.
Immediately after the torrent stopped and God had withdrawn his curse, God told him to call al-Yas'a in his stead. His Majesty carried out God's command with full obedience and mysteriously disappeared. There is a passage in the Qur'an that means:
"And remember Ismail, Ilyasa and Zulkifli. They are all among the best people" (Shaad, 28: 48).
