Can Zakat Fitrah Use Money? This is the answer
Question:
Assalamu'alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu ustadz, every month you are supplied with rice from colleagues and Alhamdulillah, it's excess, can you not give zakat fitrah with the rice?

Answer:
Wa'alaikumus salam warahmatullah .. Al-Hamdulillah. Shalawat and greetings to Rasulillah, his family and friends.
You can give zakat fitrah from a friend's supply of rice; if you are one of those who are obliged to pay zakat fitrah. Because the rice is already yours.
Second, the main thing is to pay zakat fitrah with
staple food ingredients. In society it means rice. And this form is stronger in accordance with the wisdom of "وَطُعْمَةً لِلْمَسَاكِينِ" feeding the poor. This is the opinion of the majority. And there are not a few scholars who forbid zakat fitrah except with staple food
وِطُعْمَةً لِلْمَسَاكِينِ
However, if under one condition, the beneficiary gets more benefit in the form of money, it is permissible to pay zakat fitrah with money. Because the purpose of zakat fitrah is to make fuqoros happy and fulfill their needs on Eid so they don't beg.
Shaykh Abu Malik Kamal in Shahih Fiqih Sunnah (III/109) said, "Basically issuing zakat fitrah must be based on the existing nash. It should not be replaced with the price except due to emergency, need, or dominant mashlahat. If so then it is permissible to issue with the price . " God willing
