Pharaoh Perishes with the Prayer of Prophet Moses After 40 Years, Be Patient in Prayer!

afdhalilahi.com - Al-Hamdulillah, all praise belongs to God, Lord of the universe. Blessings and salutations upon the Prophet -Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam-, his family and companions.

Prophet Musa prayed for the destruction of Pharaoh and his army with the assurance of Prophet Harun. Then God answered their prayers after 40 years. Yes, Pharaoh perished after 40 years.

And Moses said, “Our Lord, you have come to Pharaoh and filled him with adornments and wealth in the life of this world. Our Lord, so that they may go astray from Your path. Our Lord, destroy their wealth and give strength.” Strike their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the painful torment. He said, “Your supplication has been answered.”

"Moses said: "O our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and the leaders of his people ornaments and riches in the life of the world, O our Lord as a result they misled (humans) from Your path. O our Lord, destroy their possessions, and lock their hearts to death, then they will not believe until they see the painful torment." Allah said: "Indeed, both of your requests have been granted"." (QS. Yunus: 88-89)

Pharaoh's sins were not just drinking, killing people, stealing, or claiming to be a saint, or claiming to be a prophet; but he is a disobedient person who claims to be God. What sin could be greater than this?

This prayer of destruction was chanted after Pharaoh and his army rejected the truth, lied to God's messenger, preferred misguidance and disbelief, then opposed the truth in a cruel and arrogant way.

Then the one who prayed for the destruction and destruction of Pharaoh was Prophet Moses and Harun, both of them were Prophets and messengers of God. But with His wisdom, God granted their prayers after forty years.

Ibnu Katsir Rahimahullah quoted the opinion about the time of Pharaoh's destruction, "Indeed Pharaoh lived 40 years after this prayer."

It is true that Allah has promised to grant prayers to His servants. However, when, it was not announced. It could be now, a day later, a week after that, a year or two, or ten years later. For sure, it will be granted.

And the Lord said, Hear you call me

"And your Lord said: "Pray to Me, I will certainly grant it to you"." (QS. Ghafir: 60)

Certainly, God does not do anything in vain. It could be that the destruction of Pharaoh was postponed to increase rewards for Prophet Musa and his people, or to establish a real proof for Pharaoh, or for other reasons.

A lesson for us, not to rush in answering prayers. That my prayer will be answered as long as he is not in a hurry. That is, he said, "I have prayed for this and that, but it hasn't been answered," then he stopped praying. Wallahu A'lam. [voa-islam.com]
